We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Clerk to join a flexible team of professionals in delivering a high quality service within East Lothian Council Roads Services team. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who has knowledge and experience in the preparation of reports and documentation, managing and maintaining data entry into statutory databases relating to Roads and Transportation.
With excellent organisational and IT skills, you will be able to utilise various Microsoft Office packages, and be a clear written and verbal communicator, with the ability to analyse information and clearly communicate with customers, contractors and other stakeholders.

The candidate will need to be confident with good verbal and written communication skills who can quickly establish good working relationships. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team of Technical staff and will engage with a wide and diverse audience (Technical and non-Technical) as well as members of the public.

It is expected that the individual will be suitably educated to ‘Higher’ level, NC or SVQ level 2 in English and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

You will be working within an office environment or remotely. You will need to have an ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service. To undertake a range of clerical and technical support activities for Road Services in its function as the Roads Authority for East Lothian.
