We are currently looking someone to join our Scottish Welfare Fund team to help deliver vital financial assistance to those most in need.
About the Role
As a Scottish Welfare Fund Processor, you will be responsible for assessing and processing applications for Crisis Grants and Community Care Grants, ensuring that all decisions are made fairly, consistently, and in line with regulation and national guidance.
You will work as part of a small team and deal sensitively with vulnerable individuals, often in challenging circumstances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process applications efficiently using relevant systems and databases
- Make timely and accurate decisions in accordance with Scottish Welfare Fund guidance
- Communicate outcomes clearly and empathetically to applicants
- Liaise with partner organisations and internal teams as required
- Maintain accurate records and ensure data protection compliance
- Contribute to service improvements and ensure high levels of customer service
About You:
- Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to apply policy and guidelines consistently
- Experience working with vulnerable individuals (desirable)
- Able to manage a high-volume workload under pressure
- Understanding of welfare benefits (desirable)
