Full Job Description
- To organise and prepare the meals required by Benore Care Centre.
- To ensure the highest possible standards of hygiene are maintained by all concerned.
- To closely monitor the ordering and usage of all kitchen supplies.
- Be responsible for assisting in the training of all staff within your department., Principle Duties
- Preparation and serving of daily meals.
- Menu planning.
- Assist with ordering, checking, accepting and storing all food deliveries.
- Complete staff rotas ensuring adequate cover in the kitchen.
- Staff awareness regarding rules, regulations and condition of work.
- General co-operation to ensure that all jobs are completed by delegating, training and ensuring at all times a high standard of hygiene is maintained.
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained and used correctly.
- Ensuring that individual Service Users needs are met and catered for.
- To check quality of food products.
- Ensuring that cleaning and maintenance schedules are maintained and assisting in heavy duty cleaning.
- Providing cover in all areas as required, maintaining adaptability.
- To report maintenance faults to kitchen supervisor and any other problems.
- Liaise with all those involved in the work at Benore Care Centre, thus ensuring a smooth running and efficient home.
- To participate in any training and educational programmes provided.
- To know the Fire Policy of the home and be fully aware of the positions of the fire alarms and equipment.
- Be fully aware of your terms and condition of employment. The above is considered to be a broad representation and not necessarily a comprehensive list. Additional responsibilities will be agreed from time to time as the needs of the home dictate.
