Full Job Description
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships. As well as running the iconic Glasgow Subway, SPT delivers an extensive range of public transport services including bus stations and subsidised bus services, manages large transport infrastructure projects and is responsible for delivery of a long-term multi-modal transport strategy for the West of Scotland.
About the role
We have a great opportunity to join our Network Analysis & Design Team. A key role that requires attention to detail and initiative, to deliver Supported Local Bus, and Demand Responsive Bus Services across Strathclyde. The role also supports the Network Analysis & Design Manager and Team Leader (Area 1) in using transport data to critically assess the bus network and identify areas for improvement, including changes to services, or identifying how the infrastructure could change to derive benefits. In addition, you will be involved with procurement, contract management, analysis, compiling reports stakeholder engagement, road closures & diversions as well as fleet management.
Full time hours will be 35 hours per week working Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to undertake work outwith this norm to meet the responsibilities of the post.
Whilst you will be based at 131 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, SPT is currently operating a hybrid working scheme which allows 50% home working. Please note, this position falls into the low risk category under the Alcohol and Drugs policy and therefore is subject to for-cause testing procedures.
About you
The ideal candidate will be educated to SQA higher level or equivalent including English, an awareness of modern digital technologies and an understanding of trends in transport provision and robust network planning & design including security, compliance and integration. You will have experience in preparing and presenting statistical information and reports, good attention to detail and be confident in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. As a team player, you will be flexible and motivated and have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. Experience in public transport operations and a good understanding of the commercial local bus environment is seen as desirable.
