Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Trade Operative to join our day to day team based in Glasgow, which consists of around 18 Operatives. You will work on properties across the region in both new and old stock, with skills in some of the following disciplines: joinery, plumbing, tiling and painting. The role will occasionally involve lone working with opportunities to work with the wider team as and when required. With a company van and tools included the role will cover sites across the Central and West Scotland area. The role of Trade Operative will include:

  • Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
  • Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer, Sanctuary Group encourages and welcomes applications from people from diverse backgrounds to support our commitment to offering an inclusive environment for our employees and customers.
  • We work closely with the Home Office in order to prevent unlawful working. A basic Disclosure and Barring Service check will be necessary in the event of a successful application which we will pay for. Sanctuary Maintenance Contractors Limited is a subsidiary of Sanctuary Housing Association, an exempt charity.

  • To ensure full compliance with CDM 2015 legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to SVQ Level 2 in core subject or SVQ Level 3 in Plumbing, Unvented - G3 Certificate, Water Regulations (WRAS) if plumbing is core
  • Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
  • Good communication and customer care skills
  • Working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
