Full Job Description
Fixed Term for 3 Years (Secondment Cover)
Location: This post is based at Link’s Edinburgh office. However, hybrid working is available with this role.
Hour of Work: 35 per week (Monday to Friday)
Alternative working patterns and/or working arrangements will be considered.
The Role
At Link, people are at the heart of everything we do. Our people have made our award-winning social enterprise the success it is today and as it continues to grow, we want them to be the best they can be and to reach their potential.
As a Human Resources Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering a professional, efficient, and accurate HR service. You will provide proactive administrative support to hiring managers throughout the end-to-end recruitment and selection process, including planning and co-ordinating recruitment campaign administration, ensuring that they are in accordance with Link’s policies and relevant legislation.
You will be responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle, including new starts, contractual changes, and leavers. Providing high-quality administrative support, you will work closely with managers, hiring managers, employees, workers, and job applicants to ensure a smooth and responsive HR experience.
About You
You will be an experienced and proactive HR professional with a strong background in providing administrative support in a fast-paced and responsive environment. Educated to Higher level (or equivalent) or with relevant experience, you will have the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, ensuring deadlines are met with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
As a strong team player, you will thrive in collaborative environments while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and take initiative. Your problem-solving skills enable you to approach challenges with creativity and flexibility, finding effective solutions while maintaining a commitment to continuous improvement and a ‘right first time’ approach.
With a solid understanding of best practice recruitment and selection processes, you are knowledgeable about GDPR regulations as they apply to the employee lifecycle. The postholder must be highly IT literate, with excellent proficiency in Microsoft systems (Word, Excel, SharePoint) and web-enabled IT tools. Experience in using an HR Information System to input and manage data is essential.
In return you will be offered the opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge through employee training and development. You can expect to work in a supportive, trusting and transparent working environment, with the autonomy to offer creative and innovative solutions whilst maintaining Link’ s values; Responsibility, Empathy, Social Impact, Participate, Equity, Challenge and Transparency.
For further information on the main position accountabilities and a comprehensive list of the essential and desirable criteria required for this post, please refer to the Job Specification in the Job information Pack on our website.
