As a Technical Lead at HubSpot, you'll be a hands-on engineer (~70% coding) while also guiding your team's technical direction and supporting other engineers' growth. On the Academy Learner team, you'll:

• Own and evolve the backend systems powering search, recommendation, discovery, and embedded learning within Academy
• Drive improvements to search and recommendation using machine learning systems
• Build the next generation of personalized learning experiences, including a new Academy home page tailored to each user
• Help embed Academy into the broader HubSpot product, allowing users to learn in context
• Integrate Academy content with Breeze and our support tooling to surface learning when it's most relevant
  
  Has experience building and scaling backend systems, ideally in a fast-paced, product-focused environment
• Is excited by problems in personalization, search, recommendation, or AI/ML
• Has a strong foundation in Java or is comfortable picking it up
• Can balance strong technical execution with a desire to support and grow others on the team
• Has 2+ years of experience at a Senior SWE II level or equivalent
• Is interested in technical leadership and potentially people leadership over time
Bonus Points If You:
• Have worked on predictive AI systems, search, or recommendation engines
• Have built or contributed to Generative AI experiences
• Have experience in the education or e-learning space
