Full Job Description
We’re transforming how we work within E&M and Property Services to create a more dynamic, efficient, and effective service – and data is a big part of that journey.
This is your chance to shape how we use information to drive smarter decisions, better performance, and stronger outcomes for our teams and customers.
Sound good? We’re looking for a Data and Reporting Analyst to join the team.
What you’ll be doing
As our new Data and Reporting Analyst for E&M and Property Services, you’ll shape the way we use information – bringing together insights from Power BI, Salesforce, Ellipse and other sources to improve performance, productivity and customer experience across our sites.
From day-to-day dashboards to deeper data dives, you’ll create reports that are easy to understand and packed with insight, helping managers and operational teams make the right call at the right time.
You’ll be involved in everything from streamlining reporting formats and automating updates to building new dashboards that reduce wasted visits and improve communication between teams. Whether it’s tracking daily workload, measuring KPIs, or highlighting risks and opportunities, your analysis will support better service delivery at every level.
You’ll report to the Maintenance Strategy and Skills Team Manager and work closely with the wider E&M and Property Services leadership team. And you’ll have room to shape the role too – applying analytical thinking and creativity to help us work smarter and faster.
What you’ll bring:
You’re confident with complex data, and even better at making it clear and useful. You’ve got hands-on experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI and Excel, and you’re comfortable working with large data sets to spot trends, flag risks and drive improvement.
You’ve got a sharp eye for detail, a natural curiosity, and a knack for asking the right questions. And whether you’re walking someone through a dashboard or presenting a key insight, you know how to make your point land with a range of stakeholders.
You thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, where deadlines matter, and no two days are the same. You’re organised, great at managing your time, and ready to handle a mix of regular reports and one-off requests.
You’re a team player who builds strong relationships and knows how to influence decisions in the right direction. Tools like PowerPoint and Teams are second nature – and if you’ve used Salesforce reporting, SharePoint dashboards or IBM Maximo before, that’s a bonus (but definitely not a must-have).
Looking out for you
While the work we do is important, we know it’s not the only thing that matters. That’s why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance.
This is a full time (35 hours per week) role, Monday to Friday. But you’ll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take paid time off to volunteer in your community.
When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working.
For your future, there’s our pension (the ‘know-what-you’ll-get-when-you-retire’ kind), as well as life assurance.
As for some nice extras? You can expect an annual company bonus. Not to mention access to SW Splash – handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping.
The not-so-small print
This role will be a Grade 6. If you’re new to Scottish Water, you’ll join us on a starting salary of £33,560. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £44,140.
This role offers hybrid working, so you can be based anywhere in Scotland as long as you're within commuting distance of one of our main office hubs, e.g. Edinburgh, Stepps, Inverness, Dundee.
Job offers at Scottish Water are conditional. We’ll be able to confirm your start date once you pass our Pre-Employment Screening. This is done for us by a third party. We’ll ask for your permission before we initiate the checks.
If you’re interested in this role – or know someone else who might be, we’ll be accepting applications until midnight on Tuesday 22 April 2025.
