Full Job Description

The Post

The Knowledge Exchange Manager is a key member of the SAIC team and will be responsible for developing and managing activity to maximise the potential from the projects and the consortium for economic and social benefit.

The role holder will lead on a programme of dissemination and knowledge exchange, working closely with project partners and colleagues across the university for delivery of knowledge exchange events.

The role holder will operate under the University of Stirling's agile working framework.

Internal secondments welcome.

Description of Duties

  • Work collaboratively with other teams both within RIBE and across the rest of the University, ensuring that processes and procedures are strongly customer-focused while remaining compliant with University, legal and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and manage activity to maximise the potential from the projects and the consortium for economic and social benefit
  • Lead effective stakeholder engagement activity to establish and maintain relationships, through management of the CRM system and the management of the consortium data and network
  • Lead on a programme of dissemination and knowledge exchange through events, communications, including social media and the website and manage systems to support this activity
  • Establish mechanisms to record all activities effectively and efficiently in order to facilitate reporting by working closely with partners and colleagues across the University
  • Lead the development of templates and frameworks to facilitate an effective programme of knowledge exchange
  • Manage the preparation of briefing papers, reports, and other information as required on issues relating to all knowledge exchange activity
  • Manage the preparation of financial forecasts, quarter and year end returns, and annual budget submissions
  • Liaise with project partners on communications
  • Liaise with colleagues across the university for delivery of knowledge exchange events
  • Oversee the creation of all digital content
  • Line management of the Knowledge Exchange Officer
  • Maintain a sound understanding of sector developments in relation to research support, and an awareness of relevant external policy/guidance, legislation, and government initiatives, providing advice and guidance to colleagues as appropriate
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the grade as required

Essential Criteria

  • A degree in Marketing, Communications, English, PR, Media or related subject, and/or substantial, relevant experience in related fields
  • Excellent skills in communicating effectively at all levels, both orally and in writing, with the ability to communicate using a wide range of styles appropriate to different individuals, groups and situations
  • A proven ability to transfer complex subject matter into engaging content for a range of audience
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at every level of seniority
  • Highly organised with the ability to work with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and within specified deadlines
  • Line management experience
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively organise workload
  • Experienced in using Umbraco or similar content management systems
  • Willingness to embrace SAIC’s values of support, agility, integrity and collaboration

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of the aquaculture sector
  • Previous experience from a knowledge exchange role
  • Experience of managing external service providers
  • Design skills, e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Canva
  • Experience of social media management
  • Experience of events management
