Department/Role overview
We are seeking an experienced Process Efficiency Lead to join our Ashurst Service Central (ASC) team in Glasgow. This role will oversee the Business Analyst cohort and work closely with the ASC leadership team. The role involves leading projects, designing and improving end-to-end services, and driving continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives. The Process Efficiency Lead will also manage stakeholder relationships in UK and EMEA region, ensure alignment with strategic goals, and support the Global Manager and Head of Function in delivering key strategic objectives by triaging and prioritising work.
As a subject matter expert in process analysis and continuous improvement, you will also coach and train the team in the application of service design and improvement tools and techniques. Your role will involve facilitating process workshops and problem-solving sessions to enhance existing processes.
This position offers a platform to showcase your leadership skills and your ability to drive process optimisation initiatives across Ashurst.
Hours of work - 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, working 8.5 hours a day including an hour for lunch, between the hours of 09:00 -17:30. However, you will be required to work such hours as are necessary to carry out your duties.
Main responsibilities
- Lead and manage the group of Business Analysts and Process Analysts, ensuring workload prioritisation, performance management, and career development.
- Provide coaching and mentorship, fostering a high-performing and engaged team.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, influencing change and fostering collaboration across global teams.
- Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of improvements in a fast-paced environment.
- Align and drive process efficiency initiatives with firm-wide strategic goals, conducting gap analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
- Work closely with Transformation, IT and Architecture teams to ensure integration and consistency of process enhancements.
- Oversee and drive projects related to service design and process efficiency for ASC and Business Services teams.
- Lead end-to-end service design and optimisation initiatives to enhance partner, client, and end-user experience.
- Leverage data-driven insights to enhance service delivery and optimise resource allocation.
- Support the creation of high-impact insights, presentations, and papers for senior leadership and strategic stakeholders.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to influence decision-making at the highest levels.
- Develop and deliver regular project updates, operational reports, and benefits realisation tracking.
- Ensure clear articulation of efficiency gains and business impact to key stakeholders.
- Design and lead continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, embedding a culture of operational excellence within ASC and Business Services.
- Introduce best practices, frameworks, and methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to drive efficiency.
Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Essential skills and experience
- 3+ years of leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to build trust, manage expectations, and influence senior-level stakeholders in a complex business environment.
- Experience in service design, improvement of target operating models and service catalogue creation and/or management.
- Proven ability to lead projects, run process mapping workshops, and develop capability models.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and present to senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency in analysing complex information and processes to define services and their specifications. Passion and sense of urgency for executing performance improvement projects and delivery of workshops.
- Proven ability to articulate, maintain and manage benefits.
- Proficiency in JIRA, SharePoint, PowerBi, MS Office Suite.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Practitioner preferred; alternatively, hands-on CI experience with a strong delivery mindset.
