Working within a busy, fast paced laboratory, performing microbiological testing on a high volume of water samples, using filtration and plating techniques. Preparation and analysis of water samples through filtration and plating techniques, utilising good laboratory practice and aseptic technique.

Ensure samples received are handled in accordance with documented procedures, including attention to temperature control, storage and maintenance of sample integrity.

Employ good time management and prioritise samples to ensure they are testing within stability.

Undertake good housekeeping, maintaining a tidy work environment and stock management.

Perform Calibrations and daily checks of equipment

Maintenance of accurate and systematic records as detailed in the quality procedures.

Attention to detail and maintaining quality records, and other quality related tasks as required.

Undergo training and follow laboratory procedures.

Knowledge of Laboratory Quality System in order to comply with the policies, procedures and associated documents.

Work well with others and display good teamwork and work to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.

Report any anomalies or concerns to direct report.

Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.
