Full Job Description

About The Role

Longstone, Edinburgh

15 hours per week - includes overnight support

£12.60 per hour

Let us introduce you to Emily:

Emily lives in her own flat. Emily loves to be outdoors, going for walks and generally being active. Her staff support her to swim regularly and to attend Riding for the Disabled lessons.

She enjoys visiting local attractions such as Edinburgh Zoo, the Botanics and the nearby cafés! Emily's favourite from a café is hot chocolate!

Emily has a sweet sense of humour. She enjoys listening to music (especially ABBA), all things Disney, watching movies with staff and is very good at jigsaw puzzles. Emily enjoys spending time with her jigsaw puzzles and also enjoys colouring.

Emily attends an outdoor day centre during the week. Out with this time she receives 24-hour support from her own team at ENABLE.

Emily is looking for someone to join her team who is dedicated and understands her needs in order to support her to live her best life.

Are you interested in working for an award winning social care charity?

Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!

Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.

ENABLE creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.

The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me

The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.

That is why Emily needs you! Will you bring your best so that Emily can live her best life?

About You

If you think you share the same interests and have the commitment, dedication, and above all, desire to support Emily to get the most out of life; then please apply now!

Enable needs you and your values to help us create an equal society for every person who has a learning disability.

Wherever your journey has taken you up until now, join us, and together we will forge a new path in what could potentially be the most rewarding role you have ever had!
