Job Reference: MH1289944WesFSW
Location: Fife
Application Deadline: 2025-05-12
Company: Real Life Options
Employment Type: Full Time
Salary: £12.60 per hour
Job Description
This role will require you to support one gentleman with autism and learning disabilities. You would support him to make his own choices, achieve his goals and live as independently as possible. You will enable him to reach his potential by providing both physical and emotional support, along with encouraging him to develop positive relationships socially.
One important part of the role would involve helping the gentleman to integrate into his community. He is currently visiting some social venues but will require support in attending others. We are looking for someone who would advocate on his behalf and promote inclusion to assist with improving his social skills and interactions.
The gentleman will also require encouragement and prompts with personal care, domestic tasks and meal preparation. The gentleman has a specific routine day to day, including a specific diet, which you would support with.
You must be patient and have a positive attitude. You will build a rapport with the gentleman and be a companion for him; we would therefore be looking for exceptional communication skills, a great sense of humor and someone who enjoys varied activities from watching TV to long walks in all weathers.
We would be looking for confident, calm, and consistent support workers who have experience with autism and varied communication methods. An enhanced Adult PVG is required for this role.
