The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has a clear mission - to grow the economy. Our role is to help businesses invest, grow and export to create jobs and opportunities right across the country. We do this in three ways. Firstly, we help to build a strong, competitive business environment, where consumers are protected and companies rewarded for treating their employees properly.Secondly, we open international markets and ensure resilient supply chains. This can be through Free Trade Agreements, trade facilitation and multilateral agreements.Finally, we work in partnership with businesses every day, providing advance, finance and deal-making support to those looking to start up, invest, export and grow. The Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) directorate develops and operates tools and services to support us in this mission., As an Agile Delivery Manager, you will be supporting teams delivering products, services and workstreams of varying sizes, maturity, and at different stages of the lifecycle (from discoveries through to live). Delivery Managers in DBT work within a community of practice, supporting each other to improve agile and lean practices across the department and deliver in line with the department’s priorities of trade, investment, and export promotion and supporting the UK’s agenda for a Global Britain.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for Investment in the Business Growth portfolio Vacancy: As an Agile Delivery Manager (SEO) in the CRM Investment team you are responsible to lead the Data team to focus on supporting the highest value companies and projects. Investment is at the very heart of the UK economy – it supports economic growth, creates jobs, and enables improvements in productivity for new and existing firms. The team are responsible for delivering
+ To enable DBT to make best use of data to proactively help high value businesses to export or invest.
+ To ensure the data being captured on the CRM solution enables DBT to manage relationships with UK and foreign based businesses.
+ To enable DBT to better understand, manage and record relationships with businesses while improving the quality of the data held, ensuring it can be relied upon for accurate reporting and Management Information.
+ To capture and analyse data to understand user behaviour while on site and to turn these into insight and opportunities to improve DBT offering for businesses.
The Content Design Live Services team is an enabling team, made up of content design professionals who:
+ maintain a service for delivering content in a fast-paced environment
+ respond to and track daily requests from the business
+ set standards, design processes and workflow to make sure the department’s content is timely, accurate and legally compliant
The role holder will have the opportunity to lead the team through change by expediting a systems-thinking approach, supporting user-centred design (UCD) operations. This is an opportunity to make a mark by influencing how DBT:
+ maintains information
+ measures content performance
+ provides a robust and resilient user-led service across 3 DBT platforms
+ contributes to content lifecycle management - including its maintenance and retirement.
This role would suit someone who likes to build consistent ways of working that are immediately adaptive to different priorities.
Data Services portfolio, Dashboarding Tools Vacancy: We are looking for an Agile Delivery Manager (SEO) to lead the Data team responsible for migrating around 200 users to a different Power BI environment for analysis and reporting. The team will be concerned to deliver against the needs of
+ Compatibility and integration with existing data sources and systems must be evaluated further to minimize disruption and maintain data integrity.
+ Differences in licensing, permissions, and user access levels between the two Power BI environments need to be carefully reconciled to ensure seamless user experience and compliance.
+ Governance policies and security measures should be aligned to safeguard sensitive information and maintain regulatory compliance.
+ Effective communication strategies should be employed to keep users informed throughout the transition process, addressing concerns, and fostering buy-in.
+ Post-migration evaluation and optimisation are essential to identify areas for improvement and ensure the new Power BI environment effectively supports the analytical needs
+ Help build the right environment for the team to deliver in, collaborate, communicate, and focus on the most important outcomes.
+ Improve processes and remove obstacles within the team and outside of it, iterating the existing approaches and facilitating new ways of doing things.
+ Ensure the team has the right set of skills and provide direction on how that should change as the product is developed.
+ Manage dependencies and risks across DBT and with other government departments to remove blockers or obstacles to delivery.
+ Have a great understanding of agile practices and be able to adapt them to suit the team you are working with and guide continual improvement.
+ Line manage, mentor and coach other members of the professional community, your team, and possibly colleagues outside of DDaT., + Agile and Lean Practices- You can coach and guide teams in Agile and Lean practices. You can act as a recognised expert and advocate for the approaches, continuously reflecting and questioning the team.
+ Communication Skills- You can mediate between people and mend relationships, communicating with stakeholders at all levels. You can manage stakeholder expectations and moderate discussions about high risk and complexity, even within constrained timescales.
+ Maintaining Delivery Momentum- You can actively address the most complicated risks, issues, and dependencies even when ownership exists outside the team or is unclear.
+ Making the Process Work- You can identify and question organisational processes of increasing complexity. You can add value and can coach the organisation to inspect and adapt processes. You can guide teams through the implementation of a new process.
+ Planning- You can manage a continual planning process in a very complex environment. You can plan beyond product delivery. You can identify dependencies in plans across services and co-ordinate delivery. You can coach other teams as the central point of expertise.
It is desirable that you have:
+ Life-cycle perspective- You can apply experience in multiple parts of the product life cycle. You can recognise when it is right to move forward and when to stop. You can recognise appropriate deliverables and the right people to meet them.
+ Team Dynamics and Collaboration- You can identify problems or issues in the team dynamic and rectify them. You can identify issues through Agile ‘health checks’ with the team and help to stimulate the right responses. You can coach the team and individuals through development., Offers will be made in merit order based on location preferences. If you pass the bar at interview but are not the highest scoring you will be held on a 12-month reserve list in case a role becomes available. If you are judged a near miss at interview, you may be offered a post at the grade below the one you applied for.

This role can only be worked from within the UK, not overseas. If you are based in London, you will receive London weighting. DBT employees work in a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in the office on average. Travel to your primary office location will not
