Full Job Description

The CRD stakeholder relationship team has oversight of external stakeholder engagement across all of CRD's work. This includes engagement with other government departments/devolved governments (both directly and via formal governance groups and delivery boards), engagement with international chemicals regulation fora, and can include briefing for senior officials and Ministers, representing HSE at trade and industry events as well as dealing with official correspondence and media enquiries. We are also responsible for the development and delivery of an annual training and events programme.

The work is varied and interesting and can also be fast paced and challenging. To succeed you will need to establish relationships within CRD, wider HSE and Other Government Departments (OGD), as well as a range of external stakeholders, by developing an understanding of the underpinning policy, regulatory frameworks, technical and legislative issues and by proactively building and maintaining collaborative networks.

This role will contribute to CRD's vision to be a globally respected Competent Authority, supporting the UK to prosper through science-led regulation of the effective and safe use of chemicals and associated technology. The role also supports HSE's strategic objective to 'protect people and places'.

You will manage a number of areas of work and will need to work flexibly and dynamically, often at pace, to ensure that HSE, CRD, and the wider UK regulatory chemical framework's, interests and priorities are met.
