Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, well organised and caring individual to join Albyn Housing Society in the Repairs and Maintenance function of the Customer and Property services team. As a Compliance Officer you will be responsible for the Day-to-day management and routine performance reporting on all areas of compliance, including risk mitigation, making recommendations for improvements required to meet current/future regulations and good practice., Your role will involve ensuring:

  • The Society is compliant with its regulatory and statutory obligations
  • Compliance data is up to date, accurately recorded, accessible and audit ready
  • All tenant interactions recorded on the CRM system Civica Cx
  • Robust contract management of contractors to ensure service delivery within set standards
  • Other main responsibilities include:
  • internal liaison with other teams across the Albyn Group
  • representing Albyn externally by being an active member of Tenant Safety groups across the sector
  • champion quality and continuous improvement in process and compliance
  • to provide guidance on best practice to teams and colleagues across all areas of compliance
  • line management of Compliance Assistants
  • actively promote and improve customer service
  • resolution of customer complaints in relation to compliance

    Educated to higher or equivalent standard of education.
  • Have a qualification in building compliance and CIH L2 or a similar housing/ building/asset management qualification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the regulatory environment for social housing
  • Clear understanding of compliance management, related risk assessment, and the ability to deliver compliance management works programmes to maximise efficiency
  • Sound understanding of the importance of Health & Safety and compliance.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and coordinate own resources to deliver services, resolving operational issues on own initiative
  • Acute awareness of importance of disciplined record keeping
  • Understanding and application of customer service standards to all operations
  • Skill to manage, develop and integrate data management systems (electronic and paper based) to ensure records are maintained and reports for KPI and other purposes readily available
  • Competent user of Microsoft or equivalent word processing, spreadsheet and email applications
  • Able to research and compile routine management reports
  • Good liaison skills to ensure that the Association maintains required standard of relationship with contractors and other internal/external parties
  • Value good governance and have a professional, calm and confident manner
  • Comfortable in working in and leading multi-disciplined teams
