Full Job Description
As the Conversion Rate Optimisation Experimentation Lead (CRO), you'll play a pivotal role in improving our digital channels to drive conversion optimisation and customer experience improvements. This role focuses on owning the development, execution, and analysis of data-driven A/B tests, multivariate experiments, and personalisation strategies across our website, mobile apps, and digital products. You'll be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to unlock growth opportunities and deliver significant, measurable improvements to our digital touchpoints. You'll have accountability for budget management, including costs relating to agency/suppliers and project work and will provide (re)forecasts to Finance on a regular basis. To ensure we work with the best external partners and get the most out of them - the CRO lead will have oversight of all regular review meetings, sourcing new suppliers as requirements and management through the contractual and RFP processes. What you'll be doing:
- Shape and be responsible for the overall CRO experimentation strategy for the bank, aligning it with broader business goals and key performance metrics.
- Design, implement, and analyse A/B and multivariate tests across digital platforms to optimize user experience and improve conversion rates.
- Own and lead a robust experimentation roadmap, ensuring tests are prioritised based on business impact and feasibility. Promoting the value of experimentation and sharing results with senior leadership and partners. Continuously supervise and report on test performance, translating results into actionable recommendations for partners at all levels.
- Collaborate with data science and analytics teams to interpret experiment results, identifying key insights and opportunities to refine strategies. Partner with User Experience, design, and research teams to translate user insights into testable hypotheses, optimising conversion funnels and user journeys.
- Lead collaboration with product, marketing, IT, and customer experience teams to ensure experimentation aligns with broader digital initiatives. Driving a more tailored user experience through targeted content and user segmentation.
- Coordinate the bank's experimentation and CRO tools, ensuring the tech stack is optimized for maximum performance (e.g., Google Optimize, Optimizely, or similar platforms).
Extensive experience in CRO, having run projects from concept to execution, in a highly regulated environment with a focus on running and analysing A/B and multivariate tests. - Strong understanding of User Experience and customer journey mapping, optimising user experience for digital products.
- Strong proficiency with CRO platforms (e.g., Google Optimize, Optimizely, VWO) and sophisticated understanding of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics). Proven knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the mechanics of front-end development to collaborate closely with development teams.
- Strong quantitative skills with a proven ability to interpret complex data and translate it into significant insights. Hands-on experience in using statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.
- Ability to influence and encourage a culture of experimentation within an organisation through strong communication skills, able to convey complex test results to a non-technical audience and senior partners.
- Experience in personalisation and customer segmentation strategies is highly desirable.
