Full Job Description

Are you an accredited Financial Investigator or have significant equivalent investigative experience? If so, then we have an opportunity to join our Civil Recovery Unit (CRU) team as a Financial Investigator to plan and progress financial investigations by gathering evidence and intelligence, to help disrupt serious and organised crime in Scotland. The CRU acts in the name of the Scottish Ministers as the enforcement authority for civil recovery in Scotland. All proceeds recovered by the CRU are paid to the Scottish Consolidated Fund which invests in the Scottish Government's Cashback for Communities programme, funding activities and opportunities for young people and communities affected by crime. Within this post you can expect to join a supportive team of financial investigators who work collaboratively with each other within a dynamic, multidisciplinary unit. You will have the opportunity to use your strong communication skills in order to engage with a range of stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies and internal contacts. This role offers the opportunity to interact with a wide range of people, working closely with your team and the wider connected teams as well as stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload and have the freedom to work independently, with your team members available to support you where needed. The CRU team are currently adopting a hybrid working pattern, giving you the opportunity to work from home where possible. The full CRU Financial Investigation team regularly attends the office together each week to encourage collaborative working. This also enables regular face-to-face meetings with CRU solicitors and administration teams. In addition, there are specific CRU team days where all staff are in attendance.
