The Role
This is a hybrid role which will combine remote working with site presence in client projects.
Who is this role for
This role is specifically for project professionals who are experienced delivering offshore wind and interconnector projects in Europe preferably working on the developer/operator side, although experience working as principal contractor/subcontractor will also be considered. The person will have built a demonstrable reputation in the sector making past colleagues/stakeholders keen to work with them again.
Purpose of the role
You will lead the delivery of engagements, at times leading and mentoring other team members to develop their sector capabilities and knowledge. You will also serve clients in some of Laminar's core disciplines such as planning and project controls.
You will also support the growth of our services in the sector through developing proposals, winning strategies and building successful client relationships and strategic partnerships in the sector.
Team
This role is part of our Project Management Consultancy which focuses on:
Understanding what the real problems of projects are
Implementing the best solutions to those problems
Developing scalable best practices, tools and technology
More specifically you will be part of our Consulting Team. Your initial leader will be our Power & Renewable sector lead.

Your top 5 responsibilities
Own the plan: Own the project plan for one or more projects and ensure that the project is working to it effectively. Ensure delays are mitigated and managed commercially
Own the outcome: You may not be the project manager ultimately responsible for the results but you are sure as heck responsible for putting in your best effort to ensure the project's understanding and focus on the plan no matter how stubborn they are!
Report and inform: Provide simple actionable reports to stakeholders at all levels that help them deliver their part of the project more efficiently and effectively
Make scalable solutions: Develop scalable and repeatable best practices and tools in collaboration with the team so that long-term impact is achieved
Develop everyone: Maximise the development of your team personally and professionally and educate our clients to improve as well.(even if you are junior you can help your leader develop too!)
You are an experienced project manager in construction project management with a minimum of 7 years' experience working on offshore wind projects with good level of understanding of sector specific requirements and processes.
- Able to deliver and lead others to deliver cutting-edge planning/scheduling and project controls services in the construction industry, powered by the latest digital tools and technologies.
- Good understanding of project delivery requirements from inception to closeout.
- Able to develop project execution plans and programmes appropriate to project maturity / stage gate.
- General understanding of contract forms.
- Ability to navigate complex project environments, processes and requirements and operate with minimal guidance to achieving results and top-quality deliverables.
- Advocate of innovation; bringing fresh ideas to the table, streamlining workflows and embracing digital transformation.
Offshore Wind Sector Focus
This role is sector specific and prior experience in delivering construction projects as a client or general contractor representative/consultant in the sector is essential.
- Understanding sector regulations, processes and contractual practices.
- Ability to develop comprehensive project strategies for offshore energy projects, encompassing scheduling, risk management, and cost control, from initiation to close-out and handover.
- Ability to work directly with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes and achieve common goals.
As a candidate, you should have:
Must-Have (The fundamentals)
Mastery: Construction engineering background with experience on construction projects. Proven impact in planning and delivering projects and comfortable engaging with clients and leading others.
Communication: Proficient communicator in written and verbal English
Leadership: You lead yourself proactively and lead others by asking the right questions and challenging them.
Impact: A track record of making projects and organisations better beyond just doing the basics
Nice to Have (If you don't have it now you will be trained intensively after joining)
Mastery: Decent Excel skills and a strong interest in data, experience in project planning both software and principles
Communication: The charisma, influence and presence to get construction people to do new things and take the best approach
Leadership: A proven leader/coach/developer of teams or teams of teams
Impact: A track record of implementing scalable and repeatable solutions in projects and organisations that had a significant positive impact
