Full Job Description

Deloitte UK's Corporate and Financial Services Treasury Assurance is a dedicated team of IFRS and UK GAAP experts that provides a range of specialist audit support and assurance services to clients across every industry sector. From providing expert input and challenge on the accounting for Treasury related transactions, to assurance that the accounting, governance, or controls environment will stand up to scrutiny, the extent of our offerings will ensure you gain an unrivalled breadth of varied and well-rounded experience working with some of the most complex treasury functions. Our support ranges from:

  • Providing specialist accounting advice on challenging and complex treasury transactions to assist corporate and financial services clients with their financial reporting requirements
  • Assisting in developing practical solutions for the application of hedge accounting
  • Acting as the lead subject matter expert for the audit teams on structured transactions and complex treasury accounting judgements
  • Leading the implementation and application of new or amended accounting standards and providing challenges to the firms on the accounting for new products and structured transactions
  • Supporting the treasurer and CFO by providing independent advice and assurance over all aspects of their control environment throughout the treasury lifecycle.
  • As a Senior Manager within Deloitte's Corporate and Financial Treasury Assurance team, you will have the opportunity to support us in building a business focused on serving the world's leading Treasury functions with their most complex business challenges. You will have responsibility for:
  • Contributing to the Treasury Assurance team's strategy and identifying new opportunities for Deloitte to help its clients
  • Leading seamless joined up expert input alongside other Deloitte teams such as tax, risk, and regulatory experts
  • Supporting the continuous growth of our team by developing and leading new propositions and driving thought leadership activities
  • Being a leader in the Treasury Assurance team, including project management/leadership of client engagements, developing talent and capability and acting as a role model for Deloitte's values and behaviours
  • Taking ownership of the delivery of assurance engagements from take on procedures and planning through to reporting
  • Driving continuous improvement through innovation and transformation, embracing change and challenging the way we do things to develop our treasury audit methodology
  • Dealing with technical and complex accounting matters such as debt restructurings or refinancings, derivatives and hedge accounting
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships across service lines and geographies to deliver market and client focused solutions
  • Managing diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution, Businesses need to be resilient and transparent in their reporting to build trust and confidence. Assurance practitioners play a key role in achieving this through independent review and challenge of management's views on a range of regulatory and reporting requirements, whether financial, operational or compliance in nature.
  • Personal independence Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships).   • Relevant accounting qualification, such as the ACA or equivalent
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, particularly with regards to financial instruments
  • Excellent knowledge of IAS 39, IFRS 9 and FRS 102 Section 11/12, including the application of hedge accounting
  • Detailed understanding of the treasury function, its financial reporting processes, and internal controls
  • A proven track record on leading and delivering assurance engagements from planning through to reporting
  • A proven track record in establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients
  • Strong leadership skills both on engagements and in an office environment
  • Experience of motivating and developing high performing teams to reach their potential
  • Report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent organisation, planning and project management abilities
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of managing and improving engagement economics
  • An ability to play an active role in the business development process, contributing to tenders and large audit and assurance proposals
  • In addition to the above, the following are desirable however not required:
  • Previous experience at similar level
  • External or internal audit experience.
