Full Job Description

We're looking for a skilled and proactive Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to become part of our UK Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) team. What you'll do as a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer: As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the quality and efficiency of our external supply chain. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Improvement Opportunities: Identify and implement process improvements within the external supply chain, fostering continuous growth and efficiency.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks, while leveraging opportunities to enhance the supply chain.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure compliance with AS9100 Revision D, particularly in Process Effectiveness (PEAR) requirements, and lead joint assessments to maintain industry standards.
  • Procurement Support: Drive internal procurement improvements to support timely delivery and cost-effective solutions.
  • Supplier Review: Implement Supplier Failure Review Boards to highlight and address improvement areas across the supply chain.
  • Surveillance & Strategy: Support the Supplier Surveillance Plan to ensure a strategic and proactive approach to supply chain management.
  • Capability & Support: Assist with Generic Capability Reviews in the external supply chain and handle ad-hoc procurement or external supply issues as they arise.

    Proven expertise in governance, AS9100/ISO9001 standards, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Solid experience in producing key quality and supply chain metrics to support analytical decision-making and improvements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a project team environment, ensuring collaboration across different business functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing Non-Conformance proactively within the external supply chain.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques such as APQP, PPAP, 8D, PFMEAs, Lean, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, DMAIC, and First Article Verification.
  • Strong understanding of procurement disciplines in Defence Electronics and Manufacturing sectors.
  • Awareness of regulatory requirements impacting the external supply chain.
  • Proficiency in identifying and leading change initiatives within the supply chain.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Experience in quality auditing, ideally with Lead Auditor training.
  • Proficiency with SAP and MS Office, including the ability to analyse and report data effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to all levels of the business.
  • Desirable Skills & Experience:
  • A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience working with US Prime Contractors and Government contracts.
