If so, we are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging Team Leader to join our Scotland Finance Team! This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Scotland Finance team, which provides financial and budget management support to Scotland Field Delivery within APHA. The Business Managers work closely with Budget Holders and their cost centre managers to foster relationships that ensure robust budget and management information support. This role supports the Business Managers. We are seeking a conscientious individual who isn't afraid to embrace a varied role where no two days will be the same. You'll have the support of Business Managers who strive to provide excellent customer service to Budget Holders, Finance Business Partners and the wider business by delivering accurate and useful data for making sound financial decisions. You will be responsible for a team of Administration Officers (AO's), assisting the cost centre and Business Manager with the following tasks:

  • Leading the team to deliver targets in line with regional commitments, accurately and effectively.
  • Being responsible for embedding new administration processes and procedures and managing your team and their work through periods of change.
  • Overseeing the performance management of the team while working collaboratively and supportively with your colleagues and peers.
  • Providing support to the Business Manager in managing the Operational Business unit budgets, ensuring robust and transparent financial management.
  • Assisting the Business Manager in forecasting expenditure and income by analysing the current financial position and investigating variances and incorrect entries, as well as raising any risks and issues relating to expenditure and income.
  • Ensuring that all approvals are completed effectively and efficiently in accordance with procurement rules.
  • Participating in the planning for the appropriate delivery of finance and risk activities within the Scotland Field Delivery, leading on specific projects and audits, as
  • Completing returns for year-end financial assurance and Corporate Governance, while ensuring quality control of processes.
  • Being resilient and able to respond to any business continuity or disease outbreak situation.
