Full Job Description
Tayside Area Psychological Therapies Service employs over 120 qualified members of staff and plays a key role in training (Doctorate and Masters level) the future workforce. The Director is supported by Deputy Directors and a further 20 Consultant staff working across a full range of specialities and the support and development of this senior Leadership Team is a key responsibility. Hosted by Dundee Health & Social Care Partnership, a Strategic Planning and Commissioning Group with representation from all key health and social care partner organisations, will allow a high level of accountability and transparent decision making across psychological therapies to ensure a "whole system approach" is taken to the effective use of psychological resources and the planning of new developments.
The Director will join well-established and collegiate senior teams within the Partnership and within Mental Health and Learning Disability structures across Tayside. Regular participation in the Integration Joint Board and associated Performance and Audit Committees means that applicants must be skilled in delivering key, distilled information within senior meetings. The Director will be fully supported from a managerial and clinical leadership perspective throughout their employment. It is expected that the Director will have a physical presence and whilst some remote working can be accommodated, the post cannot be delivered remotely.
Applicants must have a Doctorate level (or equivalent) qualification in Clinical or Applied Psychology and be registered with the HCPC. Applicants must have extensive experience working at Consultant level and be able to evidence the skills and competencies outlined within the person specification. The interview process will include a panel involving National Assessors.
Tayside is an excellent place to work and live. With a population of around 400,000 there are opportunities for City and Rural living and excellent transport links to the other major cities in Scotland. There are established partnerships with a number of Universities and research is actively encouraged.
