We have an exciting opportunity for an Environment Officer (Maternity leave) to join our busy Policy & Planning team where we take the lead on many activities for SPT in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. This includes Regional Transport Strategy, Capital Programme development. Project and Policy development; Community Planning, Equality and Environmental issues (including Climate change adaptation and carbon management).

About the Role

The Environmental Officer will focus on policy, strategy, project development and delivery in relation to transport and climate change/adaptation, carbon management, and emissions reduction.

Further details of the role and key responsibilities are set out in the job description.

About you

The successful candidate will have a Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline or demonstrable relevant qualification HND/PG Dip experience. Full time hours will be 35 hours per week working Monday to Friday.   However, you may be required to undertake work outwith this norm to meet the responsibilities of the post.

Whilst you will be based at 131 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, SPT operate a temporary hybrid working pattern which allows 40% home working, ie 2 days per week Monday to Friday.

SPT operates blind recruitment, which is the process of removing any and all identification details from candidate application forms.   This includes identifiable personal details such a candidate’s name, gender, ethnicity and age.
