Job Summary:
Enevate Homes Limited is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Buyer/Estimator to join our team. This dual role involves managing procurement activities and performing cost estimation for construction and manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both purchasing and estimating, with the ability to balance cost efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Buyer Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to source materials and services.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
- Collaborate with production managers and Design to forecast material needs and budget requirements.
Estimator Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and other project-related expenses.
- Analyse project specifications and drawings to determine scope and requirements.
- Create and submit competitive bids for project tenders.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to support project planning and decision-making.
- Monitor project costs and provide regular updates to ensure budget adherence.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement and cost estimation within the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in estimation software and procurement tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Experience with project management software.
- Certification in procurement or cost estimation (e.g., CIPS, AACE).
